LITTLE ROCK, AR — The USA Rice-Ducks Unlimited Rice Stewardship Partnership has gained a new sponsor, Greenway Equipment, Inc., a John Deere equipment supplier with dealerships throughout Arkansas and southeast Missouri.
The Rice Stewardship Partnership was founded in 2013 as a collaborative effort to conserve three of the nation’s critical natural and economic resources: working rice lands, water, and waterfowl. As technologies and management practices emerge and evolve, the ability to improve on-farm efficiencies is never ending. Through the Partnership’s programs, producers have access to technical and financial assistance to educate them on new opportunities and reduce the risk associated with implementing these often costly practices.
Since 1988, Greenway Equipment, Inc. has worked on the cutting edge of agriculture, harnessing the latest technology to help customers lay the foundation for the future by promoting the use of highly efficient equipment with reduced emissions, water and irrigation management technologies that ensure efficient water use, and precision guidance systems that minimize field passes and compaction. By integrating harvest data reporting and precision application technologies, Greenway empowers farmers to make informed decisions that enhance both their business and environmental stewardship. Partnering with the Rice Stewardship Program aligns with Greenway’s long-standing commitment to sustainability and innovation, ensuring that Arkansas and Missouri rice growers have the tools and resources to maximize productivity while conserving natural resources.
“Sustainability and efficiency go hand in hand, and the Rice Stewardship Partnership provides a unique opportunity to support farmers in their efforts to improve water and land conservation without sacrificing productivity,” said Bill Midkiff, CEO of Greenway Equipment, Inc. “At Greenway, we believe in equipping our customers with the best technology available to farm smarter, and this partnership helps extend that mission beyond equipment—supporting producers with the education and financial resources they need to make meaningful, long-term improvements.”
“With the support of Greenway Equipment and their recent $15K donation, our rice producers can participate in programs that promote the viability of family farms today and for future generations,” said Josh Hankins, USA Rice director of the Rice Stewardship Partnership. “The Partnership has brought an additional $174 million in conservation programs to American rice farmers and this important collaboration ensures these efforts will continue to expand voluntary conservation opportunities for the U.S. rice industry.”
